Algorithms from the Shadow Realm

Hey all,
I only have a few years of stock experience and was wondering if one of you wizards had some insight on what happened yesterday with the rogue algorithm targeting Jim’s bullseyes.

Watching that in real time was pretty nuts and I was looking to learn a little more on how common these occurrences are and what tactics have been used in the past to combat them. I haven’t read the book, but it reminds me of something that would be in Confessions of an Economic Hitman (Worth my time?).

“Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room!”

Tbh I’m not sure if it was algos attacking the BAM forecast or simply that the algos were following EW to drive the price action and the BAM forecast wasn’t in alignment.
