I mentioned multiple times before that NEW funds would inevitably be interested in selling short AMC as either a scalp or swing or even position trade. Thanks to @TheAntonioNeal for sending this link to me.
haha they have NO clue what they’re in for.
The newest trend seems to be announcing when you’re shorting AMC
Its great for APES imo… now we know exactly where to apply our own brand of fud
IMO in the medium term it means there will be more shares available to borrow short, or borrow to cover FTDs (kicking the can down the road). Long term, again IMO, it increases the MOASS volume and trajectory. Long long term, post MOASS, if those shares are sold short legitimately (located first), we may go back to a “fundamentals matter” story for AMC. The price will find its new baseline. This is an oversimplified response, of course, from a dumb retail investor, but I think long term AMC’s growth strategy needs to be rock solid because shorts will always be there as market equalizers.
Looks like they got burned in that bet against the APES. Touche. Hedge fund Odey sells stake in Ryanair, IAG -Mail on Sunday | Reuters
